Rebecca Omonira-Oyekanmi

Rebecca was appointed the 2020 Stuart Hall Fellow at the University of Sussex, hosted by the School of Media, Film and Music. The Fellowship was created to honour the legacy of the influential Jamaican –British academic and cultural theorist. Rebecca is an independent journalist. She co-edits Shine A Light, an award-winning investigative journalism and storytelling project and has written for a range of publications including the Guardian, the Washington Post, the New Statesman, the Independent, and Prospect magazine.
